All preconfigured offline versions of HTML Hymns ebooks include lookup, search, words only view, and any available indexes. If other features are available, they can be selected using the drop-down choices below. If no other features are available, there may not be any drop-down choices.

These other formats are provided, and attempt to be as consistent with the HTML Hymns as they can be, within the limitations of each format. All formats include Lyrics and Indexes, except as noted. Names of all downloaded files start with "Hymns".

Some formats are readable by multiple programs, such as PDF (also known as Portable Document Format). PDF files of different widths are for different screen sizes.

Some formats are readable by the browser or its add-ons: to be sure to get a downloaded file, right-click (on mobile, tap-and-hold), and "Save link as", "Save linked content as", or "Save target as". In some mobile browsers the "Save link as" feature for some file types is only available as an add-on.

These errors have been found in the printed editions; some may still persist in some places in the ebook as well. The words only editions are immune to errors in composers or musical directives.

The composer for hymn 49 is properly spelled Anna Ölander. The umlaut was missing.
The lyrics for hymn 238 were public domain at the time of publication, but a © notice was incorrectly placed.
Hymn 287 had the composer listed as "M. J. Babbit". The correct spelling is "M. J. Babbitt", as has always appeared in the © notice.
Some printings of the music editions are missing parts of the markings delineating the span of 1st and 2nd endings. This seems to be primarily a printing problem, as the markings were present and complete in the master files from the beginning.

Musical repetition instructions are in error in the printed music editions (but the music has been expanded and the repeat instructions removed from the ebook):

There is companion pamphlet "Authors of Hymns Old and New 1987 Edition". Originally published in 1987, there have been updates over the years as some of the authors have passed away, additional information found about others, and some of the following errors have been fixed in some of the updates.

Author for hymn 17 was listed as Mrs. H. B. Beegle. However, the hymn was written by Mr. Henry Barnett Beegle (1818-1895) of New Jersey, U.S.A.
Author for hymn 33 was listed as Mrs. Howard B. Grose. However, Howard Benjamin Grose, a man, was the author. Not even sure if he had a spouse or not. "Mrs." was simply an error. The birth and death dates listed are correct for him.
Author for hymn 45 listed as "Clara Teare" and alternately as Clara T. Williams. They are the same person, Clara Teare having married W. H. Williams in 1895.
Author for hymn 60 was listed as Mansell B. Ramsey. Corrected name is B. Mansell Ramsey.
Author for hymn 74 is known to be Harry C. Ayres, but he wrote it in 1876, rather than 1871 as has been listed in the pamphlet.
Author for hymn 198 was listed as B. E., but was written by Emma Frances (Shuttleworth) Bevan, commonly listed as Frances Bevan.
Author for hymn 119 was listed as a citizen of the USA, but it seems he was actually from Scotland.
Author for hymn 163 was listed as a citizen of the USA, but it seems he was actually from Scotland.
Author for hymn 187 was listed as Horatius Bonar. While Bonar did write a hymn with the same incipit, it is quite different after the first line. Two references at hymnary.org have been found attributing "Bennett" as the author or source of these words. Whether or not that is Lucy Ann Bennett, who collaborated with Bonar on several books, or whether one of the hymn texts inspired the other with the same incipit, is unknown at this time.
Author for 276 was listed as Mrs. L. Ware. The earliest reference found for that hymn credits L. Ware. While it is recorded that Mrs. L. Ware gave © permission, other information implies it was for her husband's work. This is somewhat uncertain.
